We’ve pulled together some commonly asked questions about tutoring with Ruru. This will give you a better idea of what you can expect about working with us.
How old do I have to be to tutor?
You must be at least 16 years old to qualify for RuruOne and 18 years or older to qualify for RuruPlus or RuruPro.
How do I become a tutor for Ruru?
All of our tutors will go through an approval process. RuruPlus and RuruPro tutors will go through a background check.
How much does a tutor make on each session?
You’ll make 75% of the tutoring fee for each session you do. The other 25% will go to Ruru.
Do I need a degree to tutor for Ruru?
RuruPlus and RuruPro tutors are required to have degrees or teaching experience. RuruOne tutors are not required to have a degree to tutor for Ruru.
Tiers of expertise
No degree is required for RuruOne tutors. RuruOne tutors are high school students who have completed at least one class on the subject they tutor in. RuruOne tutors must pass a competency test.
RuruPlus tutors are at least 18 years old, in college or are a teacher with less than five years of experience. No degree is required, however, RuruPlus tutors have to pass a competency test and a background check.
RuruPro tutors have at least five years of teaching experience, a college degree, a teaching license, or are a professional tutor working for a qualified tutoring institution. They also must pass a background check.
